About

Diane Malcha Oser is originally from Montreal Quebec. From a young age she was interested in both music and the arts, attending the McGill Conservatory of Music and the Montreal Museum of Fine Art. As a young adult she relocated to Vancouver, BC, where she attended the art program at Capiliano College.

During the busy years of raising her children she continued to paint and teach piano. For a period of time she was able to return to Montreal and further her education at Concordia University’s Fine Arts program.

As an artist, Diane enjoys working with all mediums, though her particular favorites are oils and watercolors. Another skill that Diane has acquired is the restoration of fine oil paintings, something she learned while apprenticing with a master furniture restorer in Montreal.

For the past 19 years Diane has been living in the West Kootenays in BC. Most of this time was spent in Salmo, BC and she now lives with her husband Doug and their three cats and two dogs in Trail BC. Diane currently teaches art and piano here in Trail and was an indispensable asset to the local VISAC art gallery where she worked part time.

In 2008 Diane’s paintings were part of the Trail and District Art Walk and were also shown at an annual fine wine and dining art auction {The Art of Wine) for the Pediatric wing of the KBRH, here in Trail, a much sought after venue in these parts.
Diane is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
Recently, Diane was awarded the Gold Award from the Federation for an entry in the exhibition in Nelson, BC in the show entitled “Close Encounters”.

Diane, I rarely spend so much time visiting a website as I have yours, you have so many blessings to count. I was amazed at the things I should know, but probably don’t. Was blown away by your artwork, cried at reading about your battle with cancer, which claimed the lives of my mother and dear mother in law, and 4 friends since 2003. I enjoyed a good laugh at your Canadian jokes, chuckled over the glue on Israeli stamps being kosher, even though it makes perfect sense. But most of all it was your open and honest sharing that gave me a sense of a deep spiritual conviction within. This is a truly inspirational website, and a true contribution to the world.

Dear Diane Oser,
I’m a reporter from Jewish Independent. I’m going to write an article about the upcoming show “It’s all about love” that is going to open on May 12 at the Zack Gallery at the JCC. Of course I’ll come to the opening and try to talk to you then.
Thanks a lot.
I look forward to seeing you and your art at the opening.
Olga.
